An undeniable impact

Research conducted by Human Spaces has revealed that concrete connections with nature, such as the presence of plants in the office, can have a positive effect on a person's stress levels. An evaluation of several studies on the effects of different environments on health has shown that natural environments, supported by solutions such as interior and exterior design with plants, have a more positive impact than urban environments.

Beneficial effects

Employees who work in office environments with natural elements, such as indoor plant decoration or natural lighting, report a 15% increase in their sense of well-being.
These environments with natural elements, often enhanced by practices such as office design and plant maintenance, offer a calmer setting conducive to concentration : this setting can even restore – rather than exhaust – our cognitive abilities.

Global findings

The integration of plants in the office, as well as having a view of greenery and water, is linked to lower stress levels and helps to create calming spaces.

Offices that incorporate natural colours (green, blue, brown, etc.) through plants have a positive influence on employee well-being. Conversely, offices with grey tones have a negative impact on employee stress levels.

Across all countries, people who work in offices with indoor plants and greenery report a much greater sense of well-being than those whose environments lack these features. A conducive interior and exterior design is therefore essential not only for comfort but also for team satisfaction.
