On 7 February, our founder Emmanuelle Mausy-Pélissou had the opportunity to speak on Radio Aviva's programme ‘Le fil rouge’ in partnership with Midi Libre. It was a unique opportunity to share her passion for her work, her involvement in the Club du Fil Rouge and her adventure with WePlante, a plant rental company in Montpellier. A look back at this enriching and inspiring exchange.
A passion transformed into an ambitious project
During this interview, Emmanuelle discussed the origins of WePlante: a desire to reintroduce nature into workspaces, to bring well-being to everyone through plants and to design healthier, greener indoor and outdoor spaces for businesses, while offering a flexible and environmentally friendly alternative through turnkey plant rental.
She shared her initial observation: the lack of plants in urban spaces, but also the lack of suitable solutions for designing professional spaces without the constraints of plant maintenance.
The Club du Fil Rouge : a support network for entrepreneurs
Emmanuelle also highlighted her involvement in the Club du Fil Rouge, a collective of entrepreneurs who share common values of mutual support and innovation. She spoke about the importance of a supportive network in developing a project and the power of sharing experiences to overcome entrepreneurial challenges.
She also discussed her experience with the Play programme, a support programme run by Première Occitanie, where she met Lucie Vial, her mentee.
The challenges and successes of entrepreneurship
During the discussion, Emmanuelle talked about the challenges encountered during the launch and development of WePlante: minor teething problems, logistics, raising awareness among companies of the importance of plant well-being and CSR, and the need to stand out in a rapidly expanding market.
She also highlighted WePlante's successes, thanks to the launch of its WePlante Vertuo and WePlante Nami offerings, as well as the development of strategic partnerships with local producers and the positive response from businesses to this innovative solution.
An inspiring message for project leaders
Finally, Emmanuelle and Lucie emphasised the importance of sharing, an essential value in the world of entrepreneurship, by sending out a strong message : "There are far too many moments at the beginning when we make mistakes in entrepreneurship. The thing that works best is for entrepreneurs to help each other out, to show a little humanity."
This appearance on Radio Aviva was a great showcase for WePlante and a moment of genuine sharing about entrepreneurship. A big thank you to the Radio Aviva team for their warm welcome and to everyone who tuned in to the programme!
