An alarming observation about mental health at work

Quality of Life and Working Conditions (QLWC) have never been more important to employees. A recent study conducted by Moka.Care and the Paris Psychiatry & Neurosciences University Hospital Group highlights a striking reality: work has a profound impact on employees' mental health.

▪️47% of employees have already seen their performance decline due to psychological issues.

▪️56% of those under 35 believe that mental health should take precedence over work.

▪️20% of young workers have left their jobs to preserve their mental well-being, twice as many as older workers.

▪️Women are the most affected: 45% have suffered from chronic work-related stress, compared to 26% of men.

These figures reveal a growing awareness, particularly among younger generations, who no longer hesitate to set boundaries when faced with a toxic work environment.

What do employees want to improve their mental well-being ?

Today, 9 out of 10 workers expect concrete action from their employers to protect their psychological well-being. However, only 16% of companies offer mental health prevention training, and only 26% have a reporting system in place for harassment or discrimination.

Employés qui sourit et qui lève le pouceEmployees' expectations are clear :

✔️Prevention and awareness : training for managers and employees.

✔️Support : access to company psychologists or funding for consultations.

✔️Work organisation : respect for the right to disconnect and adjustment of workload.

✔️Caring corporate culture : recognition of employees' stress and difficulties.

Taking action for sustainable well-being

Mental health in the workplace should no longer be a taboo subject. Companies have a vital role to play in creating a healthy environment that is conducive to the fulfilment of their employees. Providing working conditions that respect mental well-being not only meets employees' expectations, but also ensures sustainable performance and develops the company's CSR approach.
